Coining, Inc. Has Been Selected as a New Jersey Business & Industry Association's (NJBIA) 2011 New Good Neighbor Award Winner
Sweetwater Construction Corp. is Being Recognized as the Designated Builder at Awards Luncheon
CRANBURY, N.J. (March 28, 2011) - Sweetwater Construction Corp., a recognized leader in New Jersey construction management and general contracting, has been notified by the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) as a 2011 winner for the 60,000 square-foot renovation/relocation of Coining's manufacturing and headquarters facility.
The build-out scope included manufacturing and shipping areas, offices, conference rooms, and a café. The 40,000 square-foot epoxy-coated manufacturing floor houses numerous stamping, annealing, machining, and printing machines that required an elaborate array of utility feeds from under the floor and from above. Sweetwater coordinated the installation of a 6,000 square-foot mezzanine, offices on the top and bottom, and also managed the transfer and installation of this equipment from other facilities. A value engineering process, led by Sweetwater, reduced the cost of construction by almost $1 million dollars from the original design.
The NJBIA considers nominees based on economic benefit/job creation, architectural merit, and community involvement.
The facility was designed by SNS Architects & Engineers, PC of Montvale, N.J.
This is the second such award given to Sweetwater in the past 5 years. In 2006, Sweetwater's construction involvement with the Chemical Science Building renovation at the Princeton Forrestal Campus, garnered another Good Neighbor Award. The aging academic building was transformed into Class-A office space.
The New Good Neighbor Awards Luncheon annually brings together a dynamic group of builders, architects, engineers and others in the development community to honor those responsible for the State's most impressive new commercial construction and renovation projects. The award is sponsored by the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) and New Jersey Business magazine.
The winners will be honored at the 51st annual New Good Neighbor Awards luncheon, which will be held Friday, June 3, 2011, at the Pines Manor in Edison.
With nearly 2,000 member companies, NJBIA is the nation's largest state-level employer association. New Jersey Business magazine is NJBIA's flagship publication.
